PACKAGE 5

Experimental verification of the mechanical properties and microstructure of the developed ultra-high-strength steels.

Objectives

 The objective of WP 5 is related to verification of the relationship between the conditions of the technological process and the microstructure and mechanical properties.

Deliverables

Verification of the mechanical properties of steel sheets will allow for the assessment of their susceptibility to technological processing (e.g. stamping, bending).

Verification of the mechanical properties of steel plates in dynamic conditions will allow the assessment of their fracture resistance.

Validation of the relationship between the parameters of: thermomechanical processing, heat treatment on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the manufactured sheets and plates.

Milestone

Determination of the mechanical properties of the tested steels in a static tensile test and in hardness measurements.

Determination of the fracture toughness of plates in impact tests at room temperature and reduced temperature.

Qualitative and quantitative assessment of the microstructure using modern research techniques.

Verification of the technological process parameters developed in work packages 1-4 and preparation of the final report.
